Leeds Transforming Care Board are looking for Experts by Experience
Leeds Transforming Care Board are looking for Experts by Experience to work with them on their Transforming Care Plans.
What are Experts by Experience?
Experts by Experience are people who have personal experience of using services. They can also be a carer or family member for someone who uses (or has used) mental health services or social care services.
What is Transforming Care?
Transforming Care is about improving the care and support for children, young people and adults who have a learning disability or autism. People in Transforming Care usually have challenging behaviour or have mental health conditions.
Transforming Care started after the report Sir Stephen Bubb wrote following the bad treatment of people who lived at Winterbourne View.
Transforming Care is a national plan (which means across the country). In Leeds there are different organisations working together to make the plan happen. These organisations include social services, the Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Learning Disability Partnership Boards.
Leeds Transforming Care Board would like Experts by Experience to join our board and focus groups to help Transforming Care happen for local people in Leeds. We want experts to give us ideas on how to improve the way we care for people.
We would like people who can speak in meetings and talk about their experience and the experience of others.
Payment: Experts will get travel expenses reimbursed.
