NHS Leeds CCG appoints new Accountable Officer

We're pleased to confirm the appointment of Tim Ryley as the new Accountable Officer. Tim is currently the CCG’s Director of Strategy, Performance and Planning and his appointment to Accountable Officer will be ratified at the CCG’s Governing Body meeting on 27 March 2019.

Tim first started working in the NHS 16 years ago, and before coming to Leeds was the Director for Strategy, Planning and Corporate at NHS Stockport CCG. He also acted as the Programme Director for the Stockport Together partnership.

Tim says: “I am delighted to be appointed to the role of Accountable Officer and welcome the confidence shown in me to carry out such a critical and challenging role. Our CCG focus will remain on improving people’s health outcomes and reducing inequalities, and setting standards that ensure services are safe and always high quality.

“We will maintain our aim to commission and design services that are shaped around people in those communities that have the greatest need, and will continue to work closely with colleagues across the local authority.”

Dr Gordon Sinclair, Clinical Chair NHS Leeds CCG says: “We have made significant strides in Leeds to improve care for our patients but there is still a lot of work to do. Tim brings a wealth of experience from across the NHS, and I am really looking forward to moving into the next chapter for the organisation under his inspirational leadership.”

The role became vacant following current Accountable Officer Philomena Corrigan’s announcement last year that she would be retiring in 2019. Tim will take up the role on 1 May 2019.

Dr Sinclair adds: “I would like to take the opportunity to recognise and thank Phil for her successful development and inspirational leadership of the CCG over the past two years.”
