Leeds GPs take over parkrun

Leeds GPs are taking over Roundhay Park on Saturday 20 October as part of a national parkrun UK initiative. They are encouraging staff and patients to join them aiming to promote health and wellbeing. The Roundhay parkrun is a free, timed 5k run or walk.

Young mum from Leeds backs World Mental Health Day

Rachael Campey, a young mum from Leeds is backing NHS Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) support for World Mental Health Day (10 October) by calling on young parents to seek support should they experience any emotional health issues.

Local NHS and British Transport Police work together for World Mental Health Day

NHS Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and British Transport Police are working in partnership for World Mental Health Day (10 October) to raise awareness of MindMate, a Leeds based mental health resource for young people. They will be backing the Young Minds #HelloYellow campaign by handing out yellow wrist bands at Leeds train station from 3.30 to 6pm on 10 October.

Changes to prescribing to free up NHS funds

Patients in Leeds will be encouraged to buy medicines over-the-counter rather than being issued with a prescription for them by their GP in an effort to free up NHS funds as part of an initiative formally launched today by NHS Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
