Accessing your local pharmacist
Some pharmacies will be open over Christmas and New Year. Visit your pharmacist for minor illnesses like colds, coughs or aches and pain. Your pharmacist is a fully trained health professional who can offer you advice. Before the holidays start, make sure you have a well stocked medicine cabinet and picked up any repeat prescriptions that you may need.

Accessing a GP appointment
If you need a GP appointment on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day please call NHS 111 and a fully trained advisor will be able to book you into the Local Extended Access Hub open on those days. You can also call your GP practice as normal. If your practice is closed you’ll hear a recorded message advising you how to access appointments out of hours or over Christmas / Boxing / New Year’s Day.
Please note all evening, weekend and Christmas / New Year appointments have to be pre-booked, no walk-in appointments are available.
