Approximately 1600 people in Leeds use community dermatology services at any one time.
The contracts for Leeds community dermatology services are ending during 2013. There are currently three Leeds providers in Otley, Roundhay, and Colton. Over the next few weeks, we will be accrediting services interested in providing community dermatology services in Leeds. NHS Leeds West CCG will then offer contracts to suitable providers. The contracts are determined in advance by the NHS and providers are paid a fixed price. This means that competition between providers is based on quality and not cost.
Over the last few months, we have been asking dermatology service users to support the development of the new contacts. This report outlines the findings from the engagement and the recommendations made to commissioners. In the next few months, we will produce a briefing report to outline how patient feedback has influenced the shape of the new community dermatology services in Leeds.
