As part of our efforts to involve a cross section of our community to help us develop our refreshed five year strategy (2016-2021) for our CCG we held a deliberative event on Saturday 5th March 2016.
71 people from all walks of life came to our event. They helped us understand how we can meet the needs of the varied communities we commission services for. To help people understand the key issues we need to consider when making our commissioning decisions; we asked people to put themselves in the shoes of different patient personas/characters we created. The aims of these characters were to reflect their different health needs. They also reflected other social issues people living in our communities have to deal with.
We have now completed our review of the event and what people told us. You can read the report from our deliberative event to see what people discussed and how they felt our strategy should address the key issues identified.
The event is one of a number of public engagement activities we’re carrying out to collect the thoughts of a range of different people we need to work with to develop our organisation’s refreshed objectives. This includes patients, carers, the wider public, our staff, health and care professionals, local politicians and our partners including community and voluntary organisations.
