Arranging interpreting services – 22 September 2020
From 1 September 2020, Language Empire will provide BSL and language interpretation and translation services for practices. The following guides provide details of how to access the services.

GP Connect – direct booking for NHS 111 and CCAS
All practices should have GP Connect activated by now to allow records sharing and direct booking from NHS 111. During the current Coronavirus emergency this is vitally important to allow the new Covid Clinical Assessment Service (CCAS) to book patients who require community management or follow up from primary care on to a worklist. A number of free webinars have been arranged for practices to support them with setting up and configuring their systems correctly. A separate webinar has been organised for each clinical system. Practices are advised to set up an overall level of capacity of 1 telephone ‘slot’ per 500 registered patients. This should be split between NHS 111 and CCAS as demand requires. Slots should be used as a prioritisation worklist to be actioned rather than a specific appointment time. Patients will be advised that they will be contacted by their practice. It is recommended that practices review their capacity of slots weekly to ensure that there are sufficient slots in the relevant worklists.
